Scope
The Program
will be able to:

Ask
the user to click a button to change the back picture of the program
·
Change
the background picture of the program as the story progresses
·
Allow
the user to make a choice between two or more ways to progress through the
story.
·
Play
background music.
·
The
background music can change volumes and tune.
·
Save
the details of the user’s last quest and loads it on request.
·
Allows
the user to have a dialogue with the characters in the game, choosing from one
or more response available.
·
Has
a main menu with 3 options- Play, Help and Settings
·
Displays
some information about the game when the user presses help on the main menu
·
Plays
the game from the last saved point available or starts from the beginning if
the game has never been played before when the user presses play on the main
menu.
·
Allows
the user to switch off the background music when the user presses a button in
the settings submenu.
·
Allows
the user to skip the backstory if necessary.
·
Allows
the user to change the main character’s name if they so wish.
·
Has
a pretyped name (Alaska) if the user does not wish to change the name.
Boundaries
The Program
will not be able to:
·
Let
the user type in response to the characters
·
Make
their own way around the Fantasia world without using the preset buttons – so for
example if the user wants to go to the bathroom and there is no button you can
click on to get there it is not possible to go to the bathroom.
·
Support
more than three different buttons per screen
·
Support
more than three pretyped responses when interacting with a character
·
Support
more than one person playing
·
Store
any other details about the player other than the name they chose for
themselves and which stage in the game they got up to.
·
Let
the user change the background music manually
·
Allow
the user to stop talking to a character
·
Allow
the user to go back to a previous stage of the game
·
Support
animation
